FAQ

How do I book a session?

Sessions can be booked by selecting the ‘Book Now’ button above and selecting a date through the calendar or by emailing hello@margotmckelvie.com. Once your session time is booked, you will receive a questionnaire where you will be able to select your session type. If you’re located outside of Seattle and hoping to book another city, please visit my ‘traveling’ page

What type of animals do you photograph?

Despite the name, Squeaky Dog Studios is open to all animals! I have photographed dogs, cats and pigs!

Once I’ve booked, whats next?

Once you’ve booked your session, you will receive a contract, which needs to be completed within 48 hours, and an invoice which is the rest of the package payment and is due the day of your session, prior to the start.

We just finished our session, what’s next?

You will receive your photos within 4-6 weeks of your session via a personalized online gallery. Once you’ve selected your photos send me an email and I will send you your final selections. Please note it may take up to a week to receive your photos with final edits. Then, you will be able to download them to your computer, tablet or phone. You can also order prints and various other items such as a hard cover book or calendar of your session.

I’m interested in buying more photos, how much does that cost?

Images are $25 each or pricing starts at 5 for $100 goes up from there. Pricing depends on how many extra photos you would like. It will not exceed $1,250 for all. Note: Pop up pricing for extra photos may vary from full sessions.

Where is the studio located?

The studio is located in Montlake, Seattle near Oxbow Bakery. You will receive the address via email 24-48 hours prior to your session.

How do I prepare for my photo session?

Once your contract, questionnaire and invoice are completed, it’s time to start preparing for your session!

Plan to bring your dogs favorite treats, toys or anything you’d like in the photoshoot such as an outfit, costumes, sunglasses, bandana’s, etc.

For the very fluffy pups I recommend a groom a few weeks prior to the session or at least trimming around their eyes. For dogs such as doodles, this is very important.

My dog is reactive, is this a good fit?

Yes! The studio is a 100% private space with you and your dog or dogs! The space is enclosed and provides a safe environment for your dog to explore off leash. While I do meet you on the street outside of my house, I would be happy to let you know if there are any dogs around prior to bringing your dog out of the car. You are also welcome to park in my driveway so the walk to the studio is not very long.

Do you have experience with dogs with stranger danger?

Yes, I’ve had many dogs in the studio that have stranger danger. When your dog arrives to the studio, they can explore the studio on or off leash. I will not make eye contact and build a relationship with them by allowing them to smell around and give them treats. I do not typically pet the dogs while their in the studio. This is to ensure that they are comfortable with me. If they ask for pets, I will of course pet them!

Do I get to be in a photo with my dog?

Yes! If you’d like, at the end of the session, we will get many photos of you and your pup together.

Can I bring multiple dogs?

YES! The studio can accommodate up to three dogs from the same household. However, there is an exception to four or five dogs. Please send me an email if you have three or four and want to include them in the photo session! There is an additional $100 fee, +5 photos, per dog. I do recommend bringing an extra person or two to help hold dogs if multiple dogs attend. Each dog will get at least ten minutes alone! I also recommend booking a premium package for 2 dogs and it is required for 3 to ensure we have plenty of time.

Rescheduling Policy?

You are able to reschedule 7 days prior to your session and your deposit will transfer. If you reschedule within 7 days of your session you will lose your deposit of $100. The deposit is non refundable for cancellations and the full payment is forfeited when canceling within 48 hours of a session.
