Why You Should Meet Me in the Wild

Once a month, I’ll be attending the Ballard Farmers Market hoping to photograph your dog. The week I attend will change monthly and I will be posting on my social media - both Instagram and Facebook - a few days before so hopefully you’ll be able to attend. Depending on the season, photos will be posted anywhere from 10-21 days after I’ve photographed to an online gallery - which can be found on my ‘Photographed in Public’ page - and photos can be purchased individually for $25 each by emailing at hello@margotmckelvie.com and letting me know which photo(s) you’re interested in purchasing. Once you’ve purchased you’re photo you’ll receive a private gallery where you’ll be able to download your photo sans watermark and purchase prints!

This is my ‘passion project.’ It’s not something that I make money off of and honestly takes up quite a bit of my time. Between photographing and editing an album can take upwards of 5 hours. But it is something that I love doing as it allows me to meet more dogs in the Seattle area, photograph breeds that I have not yet had a chance to photograph yet, meet likeminded dog lovers and allow having your dog photographed more accessible. My ultimate plan is to photograph more around Seattle like spending time at Fremont Brewing or breweries in Ballard, attend events such as the Ballard Seafood Festival, Fremont OktoberFest, or the Dog Halloween Parade (which I was very sad to be missing in 2022 and plan to attend in 2023)! I will definitely plan to post on my social media that I am attending an event ahead of time but if there are any events that you’d love to see me at, send me an email or a message on Instagram!

I also love that this allows for photos to be more accessible and affordable to more people in the area. You may not have the time to schedule a session for your dog but meeting me at an event may be easier for you and your family. Or, maybe you’ve been thinking about booking a session but would like to meet me first. Either way, this allows me to photograph your dog! Photos are $25 as I mentioned previously, a lot of work goes into this project but it is very fun and gives you a professional photo of your dog.

I also understand that not every dog is an ‘everywhere dog’ and while you may be interested in meeting me out in the wild for a photo of your pup that is not possible with a behavior dog. I also own a behavior dog and understand this may be frustrating. I would definitely recommend checking out my blog which speaks directly about this “But What if My Dog is….” If your dog falls under this category, please send me an email and we can schedule a private photo session with you all. I will also be opening an animal photo studio in my home in March 2023 - you heard it hear first! I am excited to welcome Squeaky Dog Studios into my life and look forward to meeting more dogs this way!

I posted a few of my favorite photos from my last adventure photographing dogs at the Ballard Farmers Market below and you can find the full album here! I have added a watermark to the bottom of the photos as they are available for individual purchase but the watermark is removed once you purchase the rights to the photos. I also typically remove distracting items such as leashes and legs.

I look forward to meeting you :)

French Bulldog photos, Seattle frenchie

This was my first Frenchie that I’ve ever photographed! How exciting is that??

I honestly am very excited about this gallery. There are a lot of breeds here that I haven’t seen much but absolutely loved photographing. Plus I mean, look I have a pug wearing a hat, a bulldog mix with a freaking adorable underbite, and a long haired corgi named Butters. I loved meeting and photographing every single one of these dogs and giving them some cookies. I would be out there every day photographing dogs if I didn’t have all of these other business things to do!
